Hi! I’m Ziyi Gao, a Boston-based media composer, passionate about crafting emotional, narrative-driven scores for films, TV series, games, and other interactive media. I double majored in Film Scoring and Game Scoring at Berklee College of Music, where I refined my skills through hands-on projects—composing original music and designing sound effects for immersive storytelling experiences. Deeply influenced by traditional Chinese music, I have trained in the Pipa—a heritage-rich instrument that adds a distinctive cultural dimension to my musical palette.​

My work has been recognized with several awards, including the Berklee World Tour Scholarship, the Fall 2024 Women in Game Audio Award, the 2024 Recognition of Academic and Musical Excellence in Screen Scoring Award, and I am honored to be the first recipient of the Orchestral Tools Excellence in Scoring Technology Award.

Beyond composition, I work across both the technical and creative sides of media production—including score preparation, conducting, sound design, audio implementation, instrumental performance, music editing, and studio recording.
